When the Girl Scout DreamLab team set out to install a selfie wall, they turned to us, the Older Girl Advisory Board (OGAB), to bring our creativity and collaboration to the project. With this girl-led project, we were able to bring our unique perspectives to reflect both OGAB and Girl Scouts as a whole. After some trial and error, we found a design that represents all of our collaboration and hard work!

For Ava, a Girl Scout Ambassador and second-year OGAB member who took on the role of team lead, the project was both a challenge and a rewarding experience: "The selfie wall was a super fun project to work on and be a team lead on," she said. "It was great to have an extra project with my team to collaborate and share our ideas. I’m super proud of how the selfie wall turned out—there were definitely some unique moments, like using a window squeegee to spread the paint or anything that involved the [resin]. Overall, it was a great project, and I’m super excited to see a little bit of OGAB in Girl Scout DreamLab!"
"After carefully designing and refining the concept to ensure it was both sustainable and cost-effective, we were ready to begin construction on the selfie wall," said Larissa, a Girl Scout Ambassador and second-year OGAB member. "Working alongside three other OGAB members, we were empowered to lead ourselves, fostering a strong sense of collaboration and mutual motivation. One of the most memorable moments was when we poured resin together as a team—each step a testament to our shared effort and creativity."

"I learned more about how to collaborate with a team and how to pivot on ideas," said Sam, a Girl Scout Senior and second-year OGAB member. "We had to change the plan several times because of budget and [construction] issues, so we had to problem solve and come up with other ideas to create a beautiful selfie wall."
With our dedication and creative problem-solving, the selfie wall is not just an art installation—it’s a representation of what happens when girls are given the opportunity to take the lead. Come visit Girl Scout DreamLab and take a selfie with the new installation!
