My troop and I decided that we were going to do a take-action project a few weeks back. After many hours of planning, we decided to do a presentation on how meat puts more emissions into the air than driving a car. Producing the beef for a quarter pound burger generates about the same climate-warming emissions as burning 1.1 gallons of gas, which typically takes a car 24 miles!
We called our event "Ex-moo-se me! Give peas a chance!" We had vegetarian food donated by Tibets, The Organic Sandwich Company, and Boss Lady Pizza. Overall we had seven families there (including the girls who worked on the project.) We presented this information to our audience by doing a small skit.
