Hometown Heroes: Denver Rescue Mission

Girl Scout Juniors Julianna and Kennedy, and Girl Scout Daisy Summer of multi-level Troop 65659 came together to deliver more than 70 packages of donated cookies to the staff and volunteers of the Denver Rescue Mission. The girls gave the cookies to staff member Krista who thanked them for their donation.

The troop’s Girl Scout Senior Elizabeth asked the rest of the girls if they would choose the Rescue Mission as their Hometown Hero this year. In January, she met virtually with the Rescue Mission’s Public Relations Manager and learned that it benefits from amazing volunteers each day who continue to serve meals to people without homes throughout the pandemic. The troop agreed that they are heroes in our community.

We want to hear how your girl is using her Girl Scout skills by taking initiative, caring for the community, and Girl Scouting at home. She can send in her story here.
