Three Cadettes worked on the MEdia Journey at Meadow Mountain Ranch this summer. They got together and created a survey about media use, but in a unique twist, they surveyed their parents and grandparents, learning views of beauty wisdom from elders. Memorable quotes from survey responses include:

After flipping through magazines the Cadettes created a video message about the false promises of many beauty products they saw ads for, and created lists of people they wanted to share it with.
Beauty products are “taking advantage of their feelings making them feel like they’re not wanted and not beautiful so they spend money.” –Ellie
Raven made a good-influence magazine for their younger sister, Ellie made an ad filter to go on top of her YouTube shows, and Caitlin created an artistic superhero that defeats ads.
Ellie and Raven got together for a final celebration and created their superhero names: It’s the all-new adventures of Nemesis and Bendy Kitty. They ceremoniously passed the mic to Raven’s younger sister, a Junior, and had ice cream.
