Badges and Beginnings

The journey of a first-time troop leader and Girl Scout mom.

On April 1, Katie Singleton began her journey as a Girl Scout mom and first-time troop leader after registering her daughter for her first extended-year Girl Scout membership. Katie serves as the Chief Mission Delivery Officer for Girl Scouts of Colorado. She has believed in the Girl Scout program long before her daughter was born, eagerly anticipating the day she could enroll her.

Katie and her girl are not simply joining the Girl Scout community but establishing their own troop. They have already welcomed her daughter's best friend and are currently inviting more of her friends to join them.

Girl Scouts plays a significant role in Katie's life. Before her current position, she worked at the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto council in Houston for two years before joining the Girl Scouts of Colorado council, where she has served for the past decade.

Katie holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in women's studies. She also earned a master's degree in public administration. During her free time, she enjoys the company of her husband, two children, and three dogs. She also appreciates a good audiobook and loves exploring local coffee shops throughout Denver.

Katie will continue to share her Girl Scout journey with us. Follow along as she takes on new challenges and experiences!
