Wind swept planes, thick pine forests, crystal clear lakes and desert badlands, all this and much more await you (Senior and Cadette level Girl Scouts) on Tomahawk Ranch’s Alpine 4.0 trip to South Dakota this summer. This is a 12-day camp that is full of adventure and fun as you make new friends and hang out with old ones too!
White water raft down the might North Platte River and enjoy a cooling dip, try your hand at rock climbing in Custer State Park, summit a mountain and take in the view, visit many of the monuments and museums South Dakota has to offer. If the sun gets to bright take a tour by candlelight of the second largest cave system in the world. You will back through the stunning Badlands National Park and see why the Lakota named it “mako sica.” On the way home you will have a chance to relax with a dip in a natural hot spring, and sleep next to the lake on a real sandy beach. Before returning to Tomahawk, stop off for a fun dinner with the new friends you have made. After returning to the Ranch, there will be time for archery, visiting the farm, and other camp activities.
